When fully operational, the projects would result in an annual regulation and saving of some 420 million cubic meters of water behind the dams, the official said adding that, the water would irrigate about 81,000 agricultural lands in the region, a fax released by Mazandaran and Golestan Regional Water Company said here on Wednesday.
One of the problems facing the abundant water reserves in the province is the ever-increasing and excessive exploitation of the sands from the river beds, he warned adding, the development should be dealt with forcefully.
